Chaibasa, Aug 8:�All ANMs, GNMs and other contract workers of the health department who are on strike putting all healthcare services in the district in disarray, got the support of Chiabasa MLA Deepak Birua on Friday.� MLA met all the health workers on strike at Sadar Hospital and assured to take the issue with the Chief Minister Hemant Soren. MLA later in a letter to CM has urged him to look into the matter of the health workers and come out with a solution at the earliest.
Contract workers posted in various hospitals of the district were disgruntled accusing the government of turning a deaf ear to their demands. The striking contract health workers included ANMs, GNMs, X Ray and other technicians, pharmacists and all other workers employed under RBSK are continuing their strike in the Sadar hospital premises.
The agitated health workers contended that they risked their lives while caring for COVID positive patients, staying away from home and families and standing the risk of themselves getting infected but the measly honorarium given to them needed to be revised.
