Jamshedpur, Sep 25: Karan Kumar Das, member of Special Task Force (STF) engaged in anti-Maoist operation in West Singhbhum, was injured after a bullet accidentally shot from his own service rifle passed through the sole of his leg at Keraikela School on Sunday. He was taken to Chakradharpur Sub Divisional Hospital and later referred to Rajendra Institute of Medical Sciences (RIMS), Ranchi.
Sources said the jawan was injured when he was unloading magazine of his rifle. Just then the bullet went off, passing through his sole. Das was removing the magazine during an anti-Maoist operation, said Ashutosh Shekhar, Superintendent of Police (SP), West Singhbhum.
