Jamshedpur, July 27: The Steel City of Jamshedpur is set to make history as it hosts the opening ceremony of the prestigious Durand Cup 2024 Group D at the JRD Tata Sports Complex on July 28. The event will begin at 2:30 PM, followed by the inaugural match between Jamshedpur FC and Assam Rifles at 4:00 PM.

DC, SSP conduct joint briefing on tournament preparations
Jamshedpur, July 27: As part of the extensive preparations for the smooth organization of the Durand Cup 2024, Deputy Commissioner Ananya Mittal and SSP Kishore Kaushal conducted a joint briefing at the JRD Tata Sports Complex. The briefing focused on ensuring facilities for sports enthusiasts, maintaining law and order, managing traffic, and organizing parking.

DC emphasized that all assigned magistrates and police officers are to perform their duties with utmost discipline and coordination.

He stressed the importance of vigilance, alertness, and effective communication with senior officers to ensure the success of the tournament organized under the aegis of Indian Army.

DC and SSP visited JRD Tata Sports Complex and inspected the preparations for the tournament. They were accompanied by Colonel Manas Kundu of the Indian Army, Major Mohit Jain, DDC Manish Kumar, City SP Rishabh Garg, and other district-level officials.
