Jamshedpur, Jan 7: A team of Anti Corruption Bureau sleuths arrested police sub inspector (SI) Ghanshyam Das of Sonua PS for allegedly taking bribe of Rs 10,000 from a complainant on Tuesday.
Sources said one Shankuntala Paan of Sonua had complained to the ACB office against Das for allegedly demanding bribe to help her brother-in-law, accused in a rape case, by diluting charges against him in the chargesheet.
According to Arvind Kumar Singh of ACB, a team was set up to inquire into the allegations. The complaint was found to be genuine. Ghanshyam Das was caught red-handed while taking bribe at the police station.
