Jamshedpur: The 10th Hindi Elocution Competition was organized by The Society for Promotion of Professional Excellence (SPPE), at The Centre for Excellence (CFE) today. It was an initiative to boost the morale of the children from vernacular schools of Jamshedpur.
The event witnessed the presence of close to 47 children from about 25 Project and Government Schools (Hindi medium) from across the city. The topic chosen was �Environment�. It was an effort to instill awareness at an individual level on the importance of environment conservation.
The children were divided into two groups – Junior (class 5 to class 7) and Senior (class 8 to class 10), both these groups were given the same topic with a time limit of two and a half and three and a half minutes, respectively, to prepare. With a view to providing a platform to these young minds to showcase their talent, SPPE is constantly striving towards motivating the children.
To evaluate the students on their elocution skills, eminent academicians of Jamshedpur were invited, namely, Sona Rao and Shanta Kumari. Who assessed the participants based on the criteria- choice of piece, pronunciation, presentation, voice modulation and overall performance.
The winners in the Junior Group were : First place- Shalu Kumari, Second place – Sristi Kumari, Third place- Pihu Das and consolation prizes were won by Madhu Kumari, Seema kumara and Abhijeet Sharma.
In the Senior Group-Sonam Kumari won the first prize followed by Jyoti Kumari and Arti Kumari. The consolation prizes were won by Ajit Kumar, Ritika Das and Anshu Kumari.
Centre for Excellence is constantly engaging with schools of Jamshedpur. They strongly feel that, if we educate children, we educate the society.
