SDO inspects Sadar Hospital Jamshedpur, issues directives for improved patient care

Jamshedpur: Shatabdi Mazumdar, SDO Dhalbhum, conducted a comprehensive inspection of Sadar Hospital, Jamshedpur. The inspection focused on reviewing the hospital’s medical facilities, resources, and overall management.

During her visit,  Mazumdar interacted with patients to gather firsthand information about the services provided by the hospital. She inspected various wards, including the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU), Infant Disease Department, Surgery Department, and Gynecology and Obstetrics Department. The SDO also held discussions with Civil Surgeon Dr. Sahir Pal, issuing directions aimed at improving the hospital’s functionality.

The SDO emphasized the importance of maintaining high standards of hygiene and patient care. Specific instructions included: Enhanced Cleanliness: Ensuring better sanitation in all wards, restrooms, and public areas of the hospital. Provision of Essential Facilities: Arranging adequate drinking water and ensuring proper facilities for patients, particularly in light of the cold weather. Register Maintenance: Keeping hospital registers updated for better record management and accountability. Improved Patient Care: Regularly changing bed sheets, monitoring the quality of food provided to patients, and maintaining cleanliness in food preparation areas. Doctor Visits: Ensuring that doctors adhere to scheduled rounds and provide necessary attention to patients.

Mazumdar stated that the inspection of Sadar Hospital will be an ongoing process aimed at enhancing healthcare services. She underscored the importance of utilizing available resources efficiently to meet patient needs and improve the overall functioning of the hospital.

The hospital management welcomed the directives, committing to address the identified issues promptly. Patients and their families expressed satisfaction with the proactive approach of the district administration, hoping for sustained improvements in hospital services.
