Schools not complying with government norms to lose recognition: DEO

Jamshedpur: District education department is planning to crack down on government aided private schools and minority schools not complying with the mandatory norms and policies.

District Education Officer of East Singhbhum, Rajkumar Singh, made an announcement to this effect at a joint meeting of all 18 government aided private and minority schools of the district at Gurunanak High School in Sakchi on Saturday.

Addressing the headmasters, secretaries of school management committees and assistant office clerks of the participating schools, the DEO said it was mandatory for the schools to comply with government�s schemes and programmes.

�The school management committees have the freedom to manage and run the schools and also make appointments on approved posts of teachers. But while doing it, the schools have to follow the government rules and orders,� said the DEO.

The DEO addressed the issues raised by minority schools in Sakchi recently and said that appointment of teachers will be done through strict compliance of the district roster prepared for the purpose. All leave policies and holidays of the schools should also be according to the government�s calendar, said the DEO.
