Jamshedpur: City-based Sarojini Memorial Trust paid rich tributes to late Sarojini Devi on her 35th death anniversary on Saturday, November 30. Under the guidance of M S Shekhar Rao, chairman of the trust, a series of philanthropic activities were organised.
MS Shekhar Rao along with his wife M Venkat Lakshmi and family members were present during the inaugural ceremony. In the afternoon 501 people from the deprived section of the society were fed food. MS Shekhar Rao along with his wife M Venkat Lakshmi also handed over clothes to the needy. Sri Sri Manas Satsang Samiti in afternoon conducted Sunder Kand Path.
In the evening MS Shekhar Rao wife M Venkat Lakshmi and family members handed over blankets among seers. Famous singer Krishnamurthy and group presented bhajans in the evening.
It may be mentioned that the trust runs several technical institutes in different parts of the State. The institutes were founded with a mission to provide higher education to the under privileged at an affordable cost and means.
The academic value is given an utmost important with an aim to provide a comprehensive and contemporary education. The mission of the institute is to provide an excellent quality technical education coupled with activities to further enhance social and intellectual growth.
