Ranchi, April 11: Jharkhand Governor C.P Radhakrishnan congratulated the people of the state on the occasion of ‘Sarhul Mahotsav’ organized by the department of Tribal and Regional Languages of Ranchi University on the occasion of Sarhul festival.
The Governor said that there is an interdependent relationship between humans and nature. The real meaning of Sarhul is to worship trees and nature. The message implicit in this festival is that mankind does not exist without nature. Sarhul gives the message to mankind to protect nature.
He said that today the whole world is facing the challenge of global warming (climate change). Meanwhile, Sarhul’s message of protecting nature is very important.
Governor CP Radhakrishnan was present on the occasion as the chief guest.
He further said that this festival is not limited to the tribal community. People of all communities celebrate it with enthusiasm. This festival further strengthens the feeling of mutual brotherhood among everyone.
He offered wishes on the upcoming festival ‘Ramanavami’.
