‘A Numbers Game to Deceive the Public’: Potka MLA Sanjib Sardar Pans Jharkhand Budget 2026 as Hollow

Jamshedpur: Reacting strongly to the state budget, Potka MLA Sanjib Sardar termed it a “hollow and deceptive budget,” accusing the government of betraying public expectations.

Sardar said people had anticipated that the government might repackage old schemes with new labels, but the budget turned out to be completely empty. “There is no mention of earlier promises, nor any fresh announcement that offers real relief to the people,” he remarked.

He pointed out that the budget lacks concrete measures for farmers, provides no relief to the middle class, and fails to present any solid plan to strengthen education or improve healthcare. “This budget is a betrayal of people’s trust,” the MLA said.

Calling it a numbers-driven exercise disconnected from ground realities, Sardar added, “This is not a budget for development but one meant to deceive. It is merely a play of figures and speeches, with no concern for the hardships of the common man.”

The MLA further said that those who made tall promises while in opposition have forgotten the people after coming to power. “The public is completely rejecting this budget and will respond to it in the coming time,” he asserted.
