Jamshedpur: Sangram Panchayat Mukhiya Rukmini Murmu and secretary Mansa Ram Singh have been accused of misappropriation of funds received under 14th Finance Commission. The sanctioned amount of Rs 19,00,206 for beautification of Sangram Panchayat pavilion and purchase of necessary items, was withdrawn but in spite of several reminders by the Potka Block Office under which the Panchayat falls, no vouchers and records were presented by Mukhiya Rukmini Murmu and Panchayat secretary Mansa Ram Singh.
As such, Potka BDO Kapil Kumar has filed a complaint in the Potka police station.
It may be mentioned here that RTI activist and AAP leader Dinesh Mahto had lodged a complaint with the Lokayukt regarding the misappropriation of funds sanctioned under the 14th Finance Commission to Sangram Panchayat following which the action had been taken. The Potka police have registered a case against the accused under Secs 406, 409, 420, 34 under IPC.
Earlier, cases under SBM have already been filed against five Mukhiyas of Panchayats under Potka Block.
