Saraikela, Feb 19: An FIR was lodged in the Saraikela police station by Bhurkuli village resident Kamal Mandal in which he informed that a gold chain and Rs 50,000 cash was snatched from him by six to seven men who had come in a Bolero vehicle bearing registration # JH 05 BC 8954 and that they had threatened him with dire consequences if he did not cough up Rs Seven lakh.
In his FIR Kamal Mandal mentioned that he was getting a house constructed in Bhurkuli village about one kilometer away from his present residence and while he had gone to the construction site six or seven persons alighted from the Bolero and closed in on him. He mentioned that without any warning they started hitting him and in the process snatched a gold chain from his neck and Rs 50,000 which he had carried for purchase of construction material. At the same time, Kamal Mandal stated in the report that they demanded Rs Seven lakh from him which, if not paid, would lead to dire consequences.
While they were fighting and trying to snatch the money, he recognized two persons, Chandan Mandal of Chaliama under Rajnagar PS and Mithun Dey of Nuagaon under Potka PS. He stated that the two had business dealings with him earlier.
Kamal Mandal wrote in his complaint that once he recognized the two, they all started dragging him towards the vehicle in which they had come and tried forcibly to push him inside. His shouts for help alerted the local people seeing whom they fled towards Chaibasa. While filing the FIR in the Saraikela police station, Kamal Mandal urged for protection of his life and property and demanded that the criminals were brought to justice.
On the other hand accused Chandan Mandal informed the police that he had business dealings with Kamal Mandal and stated that when asked for due payments the latter had lodged a complaint with the police. The police, meanwhile is investigating the case.
