Rs 21 lakh, jewellery stolen from contractor’s house in Jamshedpur

Jamshedpur, April 6: Thieves robbed the house of Gautam Dey alias Laltu, a resident of Anil Surpath Green Park under Kadma police station late on Wednesday night.

Gautam had gone to Chhapra in Bihar to attend a function with his family. His companion Rajendra Singh informed him about the theft over phone.

After getting information, Gautam has left Chhapra for Jamshedpur.

Gautam’s companion Raje Indra told that Gautam has gone to Chhapra to attend a function on 3 April. He has given the responsibility of the house to him (Rajendra). After closing the shop late at night, goes to sleep at his house.  On Wednesday night at 12.30 when he reached Gautam’s house, he found that the main door of the house was broken and all the things inside the house were scattered.

The thieves have also  broken the almirah. He immediately informed Gautam about this. After getting the information, the police also reached late in the night.

Rajendra told that he is Gautam’s partner is the contractor of JNAC. He contracts with him in partnership. He reached Chhapra on April 3 and is now on his way to Jamshedpur. Rajendra told that there was Rs 6.50 lakh cash and 15 lakh jewelry at home. Only Rajendra can ascertain how much cash and wealth has been stolen.
