Rotary Club of Jamshedpur Midtown to focus on women empowerment

 

Jamshedpur, July 13: The Rotary Club of Jamshedpur Midtown marked a significant milestone with its 40th Installation Ceremony held on Sunday. The event witnessed outgoing President Preeti Saini formally handing over the reins to incoming President Rajeswar Jaiswal for the Rotary year 2025-26.

The ceremony was graced by Chief Guest Hari Kishore, Vice President of a cement plant. The proceedings were seamlessly anchored by Moin Khan as Master of Ceremony.

In her welcome address, Immediate Past President Preeti Saini reflected on her tenure during 2024-25. She shared how the club faced several challenges when she took over but overcame them through collective determination and the support of members. Highlighting key accomplishments, she noted that several projects received district-level recognition, earning the club awards for “Best Youth” and “Best Women Empowerment.”

Preeti Saini also presented awards to club members, Rotaractors, and organizations for their contributions. The “Rotarian of the Year” award was conferred on G. Gopal Krishna. The “Emerging Rotarian” awards went to Damini Upadhyaya and Dinesh Jaiswal. These honors were presented by Chief Guest Hari Kishore, PDG Pratim Banerjee, Regional Director Sharat Chandra, and AG D.N. Jena.

Ashish Das offered an introduction of the Chief Guest before the formal installation of the new President and Board, which was conducted by Installation Officer Pratim Banerjee.

In his inaugural address, President Rajeswar Jaiswal outlined his vision for the coming year, stating that while ongoing projects will continue, his primary focus will be on strengthening membership growth and expanding women empowerment initiatives. To mark the start of the new Rotary year, six new members were inducted and presented with club folders.

Addressing the gathering, Chief Guest Hari Kishore expressed appreciation for the club’s impactful work and commended its efforts to revitalize community engagement.

The ceremony concluded with the Sergeant-at-Arms report by Dinesh Jaiswal, followed by a vote of thanks delivered by Dr. Ashok Jha. The meeting was then formally adjourned.
