Jamshedpur : Dabanki Ashram of Bharat Seva Ashram in Potka block is in ruins. The condition is such that the teachers at Swami Pranavanand residential school run by the Ashram have not received their salary for the last eight months. Poor adivasi children from all over Kohan are studying at this school.
The students are also not receiving the copy-books, pencil, soaps, oil and other basic needs which have resulted in several students leaving the school and migrating to other regions.
A teacher of the residential school, Khelaram Murmu says the condition is deteriorating with every passing day and it is becoming difficult to teach as we have not received out salary for the last eight months.
�We don�t have any expectation of receiving the salary in near future and with Makar Sankranti approaching it would be very difficult to celebrate our biggest festival�.
He further said, we only have hope left from the state government if they provide aid the situation can get normal. On the other hand, doctors and staff at the hospital run for the leprosy patients have also not received the salary.
According to reports, the school has not received the grant from the welfare department since 2013-14.
