Jamshedpur, Oct 10: The Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) Jharkhand State Council expressed deep condolences on the passing of industrialist Ratan Tata. Known for his visionary leadership and commitment to ethics, Tata’s contributions to India’s industries and society were praised by CII members.
“Mr. Ratan Tata’s legacy will be etched in history as a trailblazing entrepreneur, visionary leader, and unparalleled contributor to India’s transformation,” said Ranjot Singh, Chairman of CII Jharkhand State Council. He added that Tata’s humility, integrity, and dedication have left an indelible mark on the nation’s progress and inspired generations.
Ratan Tata, a longtime member of CII’s national council, was recognized for his guidance over nearly two decades, particularly in encouraging Indian businesses to take on a global role while maintaining a commitment to societal good. His leadership was instrumental in the establishment of the India Business Trust for AIDS, which received global recognition for its efforts.
CII Chairman highlighted Tata’s belief in Indian industry’s potential to excel globally and his consistent advice on how businesses should contribute meaningfully to nation-building. “Mr. Tata set the path for Indian industry to go global and build credibility on the world stage,” the CII statement read. His legacy of globalizing Indian businesses while promoting social responsibility was remembered fondly by the organization.
CII also noted the honor of presenting Tata with its first-ever CII President’s Award, acknowledging his extensive contributions to Indian industry. His leadership in spearheading overseas delegations and establishing credibility for Indian businesses will be cherished by CII forever.
