Jamshedpur: Elaborate medical and security arrangements are being put in place ahead of the proposed visit of President Droupadi Murmu to Jamshedpur on February 26.
In a significant move to ensure her health and safety, Mahatma Gandhi Memorial Medical College Hospital has constituted a dedicated medical team comprising eight specialist doctors drawn from four key departments.
The expert panel will remain on active duty from February 24 to 26, coordinating closely with the principal medical unit assigned for the President’s visit. The team has been tasked with maintaining round-the-clock preparedness to respond swiftly to any medical exigency during her stay in the Steel City.
Hospital authorities said the specialists were carefully selected to cover critical disciplines, ensuring comprehensive medical support. Advanced emergency equipment and necessary life-saving infrastructure will also be kept on standby as part of the contingency protocol.
The deployment forms part of the multi-layered security and logistical preparations underway in view of the high-profile visit. Senior district officials and security agencies are working in tandem to ensure that all arrangements meet the stringent standards mandated for a Presidential tour.
The President’s visit has generated considerable anticipation in Jamshedpur, with the administrative machinery functioning at full throttle to ensure a seamless and secure programme.
