Jamshedpur: Tata Steel has appointed Pramod Agrawal, an alumnus of IIT Bombay, in its Board of Directors on Tuesday.
Agrawal is the former chairman and managing director of Coal India Limited. He has also served as Joint Secretary in the Ministry of Disinvestment under the Ministry of Finance, Government of India.
Additionally, he retired as Principal Secretary in the Madhya Pradesh government and has held positions as Deputy Commissioner in Morena and Mahasamund. He holds an M.Tech degree from IIT Bombay.
The Tata Steel Board of directors is chaired by N Chandrasekaran, with Noel Naval Tata serving as Vice Chairman.
Other board members include Deepak Kapoor, Farida Khambata, Bharti Gupta Ramola, VK Sharma, Dr. Shekhar C. Mande, and Saurabh Agrawal. The company’s Managing Director and CEO, TV Narendran, and Executive Director and CFO, Koushik Chatterjee, are also part of the board.
In compliance with SEBI regulations, a notice has been issued for the appointment of the new director. As part of the process, e-voting is being conducted to gather opinions from shareholders.
The e-voting period is open from November 26 to December 25, allowing stakeholders to express their views on Agrawal’s appointment. This step ensures shareholder participation in the decision-making process.
