After poll, candidates brainstorm on voting trend, keep fingers crossed

Jamshedpur : The day after polling has brought enough relief in the lives of candidates as they took a break from hectic schedules unwinding themselves with their family and also brainstorming on voting trend.

The MP- hopefuls in fray for the coveted Jamshedpur Lok Sabha are also keeping fingers crossed with a hope to win.
BJP candidate Vidyut Baran Mahto ( 51) started his day with morning cuppa along with the party workers who gathered at his Bistupur residence to ponder on the voting trend.

�He interacted with the party workers and took feed back from them for nearly two hours. Like every day he performed puja at his home and also had a light breakfast. He left for Bhubaneswar with his family to attend a friend’s wedding,� said a close aide of the BJP candidate. Mahto will return to the city on Sunday.

JMM�s Niroop Mahanty spent his day at his posh Circuit House area home with her wife Rupa Mahanty before leaving for Sonari aerodrome for a flying stint.

�I have been following a strict routine ever since I was declared the candidate. I used to leave home early and used to return late evening. Today I am enjoying the much-needed break,� Mahanty adding that he enjoyed his home food after a gap of about three weeks.

The 64-year-old former Tata Steel vice-president, today also replied the emails before browsing the newspapers. �I am passionate about flying and love to take adventure trips. After several days I got chance to fly,� Mahanty, who has a commercial pilot license and a private pilot license.

Sitting MP Ajoy Kumar, on the other, went for morning walk and sweat out on his treadmill at his Circuit House area home. He went through the dailies, emails and took feedbacks from party members of the district who had assembled at his house.

The session lasted for over two hours before the former IPS officer-turned MP preferred to have siesta. �I am feeling relaxed and at the same time energetic. I spend my day meeting with people and interacting with party workers,� noted Kumar. A total of 15 candidates were in fray for the Jamshedpur Lok Sabha seat.

Jamshedpur parliamentary seat witnessed a direct neck to neck fight between sitting MP Dr. Ajoy Kumar from Jharkhand Vikas Morcha, and Vidyut Baran Mahato from Bharatiya Janata Party.

The Jamshedpur parliamentary constituency has 15,51,297 voters and 1,626 booths . Jamshedpur will go for counting on May 16 to decide the fate of 15 candidates in fray. Presently, Jamshedpur Lok Sabha constituency comprises the following six Vidhan Sabha (legislative assembly) segments Baharagora Ghatshila, Potka, Jugsalai, Jamshedpur East and Jamshedpur West.
