Plasma donors to the fore in war against COVID in Jamshedpur

Jamshedpur, Aug 21: In response to an appeal by the East Singhbhum Deputy Commissioner for COVID-19 recovered patients to donate plasma, R Chetan came forward today as a donor. Incidentally, Chetan had recovered from coronavirus infection in the first week of July. He had his check done for pasma donation on August 18 and he was found suitable.

After donating plasma, Chetan who is a regular blood donor stated, �By surviving the coronavirus infection, I have been victorious in the war against COVID and by donating my plasma I have done my humble bit to make other infected people victorious. The feeling is good. If someone�s life is saved by this donation then I will consider myself blessed.�

R Chetan who donated his plasma at the Jamshedpur Blood Bank was felicitated by by District Plasma Donation Committee member and Deputy Collector Miss Smita, District IRCS honorary secretary Vijay Kumar Singh and Jamshedpur Blood Bank Administrative Officer Sanjay Chowdhary.

District IRCS honorary secretary Vijay Kumar Singh said on the occasion, �A committee has been formed by the district administration that is trying its level best to reach out to people who have won the battle against coronavirus for donating plasma. They should come forward and help those still embattled with the infection to emerge victorious in their tryst with this deadly viral infection.�

R Chetan was handed a Certificate of Appreciation signed by the Deputy Commissioner and a bouquet.
