Jamshedpur, March 26: The jubilee Park was closed ever since the lockdown was promulgated and logically so to avoid the ill effects of the coronavirus. But its is more than one year now and the Park continues to remain out of bounds. Situated in the hearty of the city and a landmark of Jamshedpur, the Jubilee Park has been the haunt of not only steel city residents who pride themselves in the heritage since its inauguration in 1957 by India’s first Prime Minister Jawaharlal Nehru but generations of citizens from afar have lost themselves in the greens of flora and fauna of this dream creation. Sagging spirits are revived with an evening out with families in nature’s cradle and well maintained Jubilee Park.
The administration is well aware of the pulse of the citizens who are eagerly awaiting the reopening of this Park out of fairy tale books. In fact, the district administration had made a move for the reopening of the Park. But at the time of going to press on Friday, no such administrative instruction has been forthcoming.
However, the Jubilee Mark management has stated that all arrangements in tune with COVID prevention protocols have been put in place for visitors’ entry. People visiting the park with their families will have to follow strict coronavirus protective guidelines. Yet, people are being made to wait impatiently for the Jubilee Park to reopen.
