Ranchi: A criminal got injured when his aides opened fire to threaten a contractor and his clerk at the site of construction of a bridge in Sadar police station area of Gumla on Sunday.
Sources said three criminals reached the construction project site and demanded extortion money from the contractor and his clerk. On denial, one of them opened fire.
The bullet however missed its target and hit Vinod, one of the criminals. Vinod was caught by villagers and handed over to police. Police are investigating into the firing incident.
