New Delhi, July 17: In a major recognition of India’s growing influence in global sports governance, Kalikesh Narayan Singh Deo, President of the National Rifle Association of India (NRAI), has been appointed as the Interim Chairperson of the newly formed International Shooting Sport Federation (ISSF) Committee on E-Sports, E-Games, and Technological Innovations.
The appointment was confirmed in an official letter from the ISSF headquarters in Munich, signed by ISSF President Luciano Rossi and Secretary General Alessandro Nicotra di San Giacomo. The committee has been tasked with integrating emerging technologies, such as virtual and augmented reality formats, e-shooting competitions, and innovations in judging and training systems into the global shooting sports framework.
Singh Deo’s selection reflects his forward-thinking leadership and dedication to modernizing shooting sports. Under his guidance, the NRAI has already taken significant steps to embrace digital progress, including the recent announcement of the inaugural edition of the Shooting League of India (SLI), scheduled from November 20 to December 2, 2025, with support from the ISSF.
Reacting to the development, Singh Deo said, “I am deeply honoured to be entrusted by the ISSF with this exciting responsibility. The future of sport lies at the intersection of technology and accessibility. I look forward to collaborating with global experts to shape an inclusive and innovation-driven future for the shooting community.”
The ISSF committee’s mandate includes establishing a regulatory framework for e-shooting formats, evaluating best global practices, and recommending digital platforms for fan engagement. Singh Deo’s appointment is expected to enhance India’s role in international shooting sport development and provide new opportunities for Indian sport-tech innovators on the global stage.
