Notices issued to 12 shopkeepers in Jamshedpur, sealed for 72 hours

Jamshedpur, July 31: Incident Commanders are visiting markets and other public places and checking containment zones and keeping tabs on people under home quarantine. The Incident Commanders are penalizing people not wearing masks or maintaining social distancing.

Dhalbhum SDO Chandan Kumar today led a team to Mango police station area where eight shops were sealed for a period of 72 hours and show cause issued to the owners. Incident Commander Pramod Ram sealed two shops in Golmuri while Chandradev Prasad sealed one shop in Kadma and another in Sonari for overcrowding the business premises. The other show cause points were not wearing masks and selling tobacco products including cigarettes in the Sonari shop.

One person conducting private tuitions was found teaching 11 students in two rooms in Sonari. The children were sent home while the tutor was served show cause notice. Check was conducted to ensure that people in home quarantine were following rules. All the 12 persons in quarantine were found to be adhering to the norms.

The Incident Commanders also went around their command areas telling people to obey the COVID-19 protection protocols.

They have been warning shopkeepers to use masks and sanitizers and to maintain social distancing in their premises. Any shop owner found flouting the rules would be penalized under relevant sections of the DM Act.
