JAMSHEDPUR: Highlighting its commitment to technology-driven innovation, the National Institute of Technology (NIT) Jamshedpur successfully concluded a five-day Advanced Entrepreneurship and Skill Development Program (A-ESDP) focused on the future of medical technology. The program, which wrapped up on Friday, served as a catalyst for integrating cutting-edge digital solutions into the healthcare MSME sector.
Pioneering IoT and AI-ML in Healthcare
Sponsored by the Ministry of Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSME), the initiative centered on the theme “IoT-Driven Healthcare Innovations for MSMEs.” Under the leadership of Director Prof. (Dr.) Gautam Sutradhar, the Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering, transformed the campus into a hub for tech-entrepreneurship. The curriculum emphasized how the Internet of Things (IoT) and Artificial Intelligence (AI) can revolutionize patient care and medical manufacturing, providing participants with a roadmap to translate complex algorithms into viable startup opportunities.
Collaborative Expertise and Knowledge Exchange
The five-day event featured an impressive lineup of experts from top-tier institutions, including IIT Kharagpur, CSIR–NML, XLRI, and VIT Vellore. These leaders delivered lectures on innovation pathways, AI-ML-based diagnostics, and the specific challenges of scaling tech-heavy healthcare startups within the MSME framework.
Coordinated by Dr. Basudeba Behera along with Dr. Nagendra Kumar and Dr. Ajay Kumar, the program engaged 20 faculty members and researchers from across India. By focusing on case studies and technology-oriented deliberations, NIT Jamshedpur has effectively bridge the gap between academic research and industrial application, fostering a new generation of tech-savvy entrepreneurs.
