Jamshedpur, Oct 8: Acting on complaints from residents, Jamshedpur West MLA Saryu Roy’s public representatives met officials of HB Infra Engineering Ltd., the company undertaking road construction work on NH-33, at its office near Pardih Kali Mandir on Wednesday.

The delegation, led by local representatives Pintu Singh, Pawan Singh, Praveen Singh, Lalu Gaur, Hemant Pathak, Dhananjay Kumar and Saheb Bagchi, met liaison officer Iqbal Mohammad and raised concerns about excessive dust pollution caused by ongoing construction work. “The dust has made it difficult to walk from Pardih Chowk to Baliguma. Visibility is extremely poor. Despite repeated requests for water sprinkling, nothing has been done,” the representatives told the official, warning that they might demand a work stoppage if the situation continued.

Responding to their concerns, Iqbal Mohammad assured that from Wednesday onwards, the company would conduct water sprinkling twice a day to control dust and would also repair damaged road portions immediately. He further promised to send GPS-tagged photos of the water sprinkling activity as proof of compliance.
