Jamshedpur, Sept 28: The working class federations of the city, in a letter addressed to the President of India through the Deputy Commissioner, East Singhbhum, have appealed that the new laws passed by both houses of Parliament went against the interests of the working class and urged the President not to endorse them.
The federations� letter contended that the corona period had accounted for job loss and introduction of the new labour laws would add to the miseries of the workers already reeling under the multi-pronged economic blows. They accused certain state governments of secretly manipulating the laws aimed at strengthening the hands of the corporates. The federation leaders stated in the letter that changes in labour laws could be made provided they were not against the working class. They accused the central government of framing labour and farmers� bills in a manner that the workers including farmers would be made pawns in the hands of the capitalists and corporates and would be at the mercy of their employers� whims and caprices.
