Jamshedpur, April 25: The JSA League Qualifiers for the A Division kicked off with high-octane action as four intense matches were played across two venues—Tinplate Sports Complex and Armoury Ground. The opening day saw Morning Star Matladih, S.S.M.M. Mirzadih, Young Hira Nagpurath, and Ganga Narayan Singh Football Club secure wins in their respective encounters.
In Group A’s opening match at Tinplate Sports Complex, Morning Star Matladih edged past Baba Tilka Memorial Club 1-0. The decisive goal came in the 31st minute from Ajay Tiu, who proved to be the match-winner.
Meanwhile, at Armoury Ground, S.S.M.M. Mirzadih claimed a narrow 1-0 victory over Aruna Samity Club Junior. Mukesh Besra netted the only goal in the 17th minute, securing three valuable points for his side.
In one of the day’s most exciting fixtures, Young Hira Nagpurath Club defeated Jaipal Sporting Club 2-1 at Tinplate Sports Complex. Anil Sharma delivered a brilliant performance, scoring twice in the 65th and 68th minutes. Sagar Kisku of Jaipal Sporting had equalized briefly in the 66th minute, but Sharma’s quick second goal sealed the win for Young Hira.
The final match at Armoury Ground between Ganga Narayan Singh Football Club and Tudu Star Patamda ended goalless in regulation time. The outcome was decided via a penalty shootout, with GNS FC prevailing 5-3 in a tense finish.
With the first round of matches concluded, attention now turns to the upcoming fixtures set for tomorrow. As the teams continue their fight for a coveted spot in the A Division, more exciting football action is expected in the days ahead.
