Jamshedpur: In view of Election Commission of India�s directives regarding Model Code of Conduct, district administration here has started taking action against individuals and organizations to ensure total compliance.
District police officials removed the Tata Motors convoy drivers staging dharna before the Jamshedpur Collectorate for the last several months. The leader of convoy drivers, Gyan Sagar Prasad, said the agitation was on for the last six months. Convoy drivers have demanded minimum wages and other benefits, he said, adding that the district administration officials had assured the agitating drivers of action by tomorrow. Prasad announced to call off the agitation in view of the imposition of Model Code of Conduct.
In another such case, the administration also removed one Jai Kumar Das of Bhatia Basti, Kadma, staging dharna with his family members for the last three months in front of the Collectorate. Das said he was staging dharna for personal reasons, but would comply with the ECI orders.
