Jamshedpur: A mob lynched a man accused of raping a six year old girl in Chaibasa Muffasil police station area on Sunday.
The accused Saluka Purty allegedly raped the girl when she was alone at home. The girl�s mother had gone to a fair in Khuntpani when the incident took place. When the woman returned home, one of her relatives informed her about the incident.
Soon the women informed other villagers about the incident. Irked over the news, the villagers searched for the accused and thrashed him severely. Police later reached the scene and rescued the accused who was in critical condition. The accused was taken to Sadar Hospital where he was announced brought dead, sources said.
Police said an FIR had been registered against unidentified persons in connection with the lynching.
