Jamshedpur: Unidentified persons killed a 38 year-old woman, Jharna Paul, wife of Kinshuk Maity, in an apartment in Sahara Complex under Kadma police station area on Tuesday. Police sources said the incident transpired in the evening when Maity returned to his flat around 5 pm. He found the door of his house open. It was completely dark inside.
When Maity went in, he was shocked to find his wife in a pool of blood on the floor. Police reached the apartment on the information of the husband. They suspect the hand of close relatives in the homicide. They said the killers were suspected to be close relatives as the deceased often did not open the door for strangers. Cops said the woman was killed in cold blood with sharp weapons.
They searched for death weapon in the house and also inquired into the incident by questioning the neighbours of the deceased. Police cordoned off the crime scene in the Flat Number D3 where the murder took place. They questioned Maity about the incident and also inquired into the past of the deceased and her marital life.
Investigators said the killers used sharp weapons in the homicide. They said the homicide was well planned. The killers left the door open and switched off lights in the house.
Senior police officials visited the crime scene and probe into the killing. They said cops were searching for clues into the incident and were also trying to get evidence such as CCTV footage if possible. Security personnel of the building are also being interrogated in connection with the incident.
The homicide left the local residents shocked with its degree of brutality. Cops too, suspect a major conspiracy in the incident. They said they will be investigating into the possibility of the deceased having been raped before being killed.
