MGM Hospital to Recruit 20 Doctors to Tackle Patient Surge

Jamshedpur: The Mahatma Gandhi Memorial (MGM) Hospital in Jamshedpur is preparing to strengthen its medical staff by recruiting 20 doctors under the state’s Residency Scheme. This decision follows a significant increase in patient volume that has left the current medical team overstretched. According to the hospital administration, the recruitment will focus on selecting Junior Residents for non-academic clinical positions for a one-year term.

Hospital Superintendent Dr. Balram Jha has officially invited applications to fill these 20 vacancies. The recruits will be deployed to critical areas of the hospital, specifically the Emergency and ICU units, the TB and Chest department, and the Anaesthesia department. To be eligible, candidates must possess an MBBS degree and hold a permanent registration certificate from the Jharkhand State Medical Council.

The selection process includes specific criteria where priority will be given to recent graduates of MGM Medical College who have finished their internships. Applicants must ensure that their internship completion date falls within the last four years. It is also noted that the hospital will not provide any government hostel or residential accommodation for those selected.

Candidates must submit their applications to the Hospital Superintendent’s office by 5:00 PM on January 28, 2026. Following the submission deadline, the verification of documents is scheduled for 11:00 AM on January 29, 2026. The final counselling session will take place at the hospital on January 30, 2026, starting at 12:00 PM.

The vacancies are distributed with 10 seats allocated to the Emergency and ICU departments, 6 seats for Anaesthesia, and 4 seats for the TB and Chest department.
