Jamshedpur: Citing persistent overcrowding in patient wards, the administration of MGM Medical College and Hospital has tightened entry norms and made visitor passes mandatory at the main gate. The hospital authorities have directed home guard personnel deployed at the main gate to ensure that no individual is allowed entry without a valid pass.
According to hospital authorities, an excessive number of attendants and unnecessary visitors accompanying patients in recent days has led to overcrowding in the wards. This has not only affected patient comfort but has also increased pressure on infection control and overall security management.
It also came to light that several individuals were entering the hospital through basement gates, weakening the control system implemented at the main entrance. Taking the matter seriously, the administration has decided to close all basement entry points to prevent unauthorized access.
The MGM authorities have clarified that the move has been taken in the interest of patients and to maintain smooth functioning within the hospital. He appealed to patients’ families to cooperate and ensure that only essential attendants obtain passes and enter the hospital premises.
The hospital administration believes that these measures will help regulate crowd movement and provide a safer and more conducive environment for patient care.
