Meteorological Centre predicts widespread rainfall on June 8 in Jamshedpur

Jamshedpur, June 6: Meteorological Centre has predicted widespread rainfall in East Singhbhum on June 8. A low pressure is expected to impact Jharkhand’s weather resulting in widespread rain covering most districts in southern and central Jharkhand, from June 8.

Weathermen said a low pressure area would develop over eastern parts of west central Bay of Bengal around June 8 . The weather system would result in rain over Jharkhand as well as neighbouring Bengal.

” As per our study most districts would get light to moderate rain for atleast three days from June 8 due to the low pressure,” said S D Kotal, director of Ranchi Meteorological Centre.

According to him, the low pressure would also assist in onset of southwest monsoon in eastern India.

Weathermen at IMD’s Patna Meteorological Centre, which too keeps a tab on Jharkhand’s weather said currently a cyclonic circulation hovering 4.5 Kms above the mean sea level over central parts of neighbouring Madhya Pradesh was impacting Jharkhand’s weather.

” The cyclonic circulation is expected to trigger thunderstorm and rain over north-east, south-east and central Jharkhand for the next two days, ” said a weather official in Patna.

IMD announced onset of arrival in Kerala that coincided with its normal time. Earlier, weatherman had predicted monsoons arrival jb Kerala by June 5, after a delay of four days.
Weathermen have predicted more happy showers in the next four to five days due to a low pressure trough running from north-west Uttar Pradesh to interior Odisha over Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh.
The number of Nor’westers ( or summer saviour storms ), which is an April-May phenomenon, that results in widespread rain is also a contributing factor. May saw seven such storms .
Frequent cyclonic circulations and low-pressure troughs and the cyclonic storm Amphan too tamed the cruel May sun this year. ” The month hasn’t been so cool in last one decade atleast ” said S D Kotal, director of Ranchi Meteorological Center and an expert weather forecaster.
