Jamshedpur, Nov 17: The Anti-Corruption Foundation of the World submitted a five-point memorandum to District Deputy Commissioner Karn Satyarthi, demanding immediate measures to control the growing stray animal problem in the city. The delegation was led by Jharkhand State General Secretary Shashi Acharya.

The memorandum highlighted the increasing presence of stray dogs, bulls and cattle on main roads, intersections and residential streets which has led to a rise in accidents. Several women have been seriously injured in recent weeks, and incidents involving aggressive bulls have even resulted in fatalities. Frequent dog bite cases have also created an atmosphere of fear among citizens.

The organization placed key demands before the administration, including immediate removal of stray animals from public roads, construction of permanent shelter homes for stray animals,  streamlining and speeding up the sterilization process for stray dogs, relocation of stray animals from crowded places to controlled zones and implementation of strict regulatory measures to ensure public safety.

Shashi Acharya and Panchayat Samiti member Sunil Gupta warned that if prompt action was not taken, the organization would be compelled to launch a public movement, and the administration would be held accountable.

District President Ravinder Kaur, Saraikela President Sujata Singh, Pooja Singh, Deputy Mukhiya Santosh Thakur, Ward Members Pooja Kumari, Sangeeta Singh, Vidya Singh, Sushma Singh, Amrita Kultaj, Pushpa Singh, Mahavir Sahu, Lakkhikant Das and many others were present during the submission of the memorandum.
