Jamshedpur, Apr 3: After complaints of charging fees from patients who were Ayushman beneficiaries, the license of Adityapur-based Meditrina Superspeciality Hospital was suspended by the Searikela Kharsawan civil surgeon H. S Barwar after a probe.
The civil surgeon has asked the hospital management to submit its reply within five days after prohibiting it to treat new patients under Clinical Establishment Act. and also levied a fine of Rs 5 lakh.
The civil surgeon said that there have been complaint against the hospital of not properly treating patients having Ayushman Bharat cards and even charging extra money from such patients and during the probe carried out by the department the charges labelled were found to be true which prompted them to take such action asking hospital to give their stand within 5 days and if their clarification is not satisfactory their license would be cancelled permanently.
The civil surgeon said that they cannot take new patients while existing patients have to be treated properly and discharged after a week.
