MD Tata Steel meets DC, expresses need for strict vigil

Jamshedpur : Concerned over rising crime graph of the city, Tata Steel managing director T V Narendran met DC and SSP and expressed solidarity with regard to the sudden and unprecedented law and order situation being faced by the city.

The managing director said that the rising crime was a matter of concern however the company was satisfied with the work being done by administration. He expressed a need for deployment of ade- quate security forces for strict vigil.

In his response, the DC, Amitabh Kaushal, thanked the citizen for the support offered and recounted the steps taken by the administration. He mentioned that a large a number of police personnel had been deployed in the city which was visible. He mentioned that the deployment of the extra forces needs to be on a permanent basis rather than an ad hoc deployment only in times of need.
