Noamundi, June 5: The Forest department of Gua organized a marathon race on the occasion of world environment day at Gua on Monday. A large number of ladies, men and children participated in the race.
The Marathon race started from forest office which traversed through Gua and ended at Kusumghat. The forest ranger Ganesh Bhagta appealed the people to plant in order to save the environment .
The Ranger said that due to vegetation it rains and the earth receives water and if there are no plants the earth cannot survive.
Several environment awareness leaflets were also distributed among the residents.
