Jamshedpur: Manasi Mela was organized in a grand manner on Friday at Telco Club under the aegis of Manasi Club. The event had a variety of attractions. There were mouth-watering delicacies at food stalls as well as exciting games in the fair.
The chief guest, AB Lall, Plant Head, Tata Motors, Jamshedpur, inaugurated the fair by cutting the ribbon and releasing the balloons which carried the Manasi slogan �We dare to care�. He inspected the various stalls managed by the Manasi members. A salient feature of the event was the Gotipua dance performed by the artists from Orissa. The troupe�s guru, late Maguni Das, was awarded Padma Shree.
�Manasi has a dual objective of caring for the less privileged in the society and promoting the art and culture of a developing state which is still in its struggle period,� said one of the organizers.
The Manasi Club president Bharti Lall along with her committee members comprising Papiya Choudhury (secretary), Enakshi Ganguly (joint secretary), Usha Mohan (treasurer) and Sujatha Sri Ram (joint treasurer), expressed satisfaction and joy over taking up a social responsibility.
