Mahato denies JMM bandh call will affect PMs April 24 meet

Jamshedpur, April 21: Jamshedpur MP Bidyut Baran Mahato on Thursday said that large number of party supporters will participate in National Panchayati Raj Day function at JRD Tata Sports Complex from all the 11 blocks of the district.

We want to make the event a historic. We are keeping a balance with the administration. The district administration has identified nearly 11 spots for parking of vehicles carrying people from different panchayats to the city. We will be making arrangements for foods of the villagers at the NH-33 before they start reaching the venue at around 12 noon. We expect nearly 40,000 people converging at the venue, the Jamshedpur MP said.

He also denied effect of JMM-sponsored Kolhan bandh on the number of villagers coming to witness Prime Minister in city.

First time a Prime Minister is coming to Jamshedpur with the campaign to strengthen the panchayats. Around 70 percent of the population of the country is living in villages and the state and country will develop only if the villages are made stronger and for the April 24 event at least two persons for every panchayat will come to listen to the PM, Mahato said addressing a press conference on Thursday.

MP further informed that to overcome the soaring temperature a water tank and ambulance will be kept at every entry gate of JRD Complex for the villagers and delegates.

A 12-bed hospital has also been constructed at the venue. Tanker owners have been informed that villagers would start coming at around 12 noon and the tankers should be filled at the right time so that it doesnt gets hotter. Water pouches will also be available.
