Jamshedpur, Aug. 30 : The second truck with about 15 tonnes relief material for Darjeeling was flagged today from Loyola School after the morning assembly. It was a joint assembly of Junior & High School.
The truck was flagged jointly by students of Loyola School, Sacred Heart Convent, KPS Schools and members of Jyoti Club of Jamshedpur schools.
Fr. Pius Fernandes, Principal, Fr. Michael Fernandes, Vice Principal, Fr. Dayanidhi Bisoi, Headmaster, Loyola Hindi School, Rajiv Talwar, Vice President, Loyola Alumni Association, Sister Mridula, Principal Sacred Heart Convent, Principals of KPS Kadma, Gamharia, Mango, NML, Burmamines, Ekta Agarwal, principal, Greenfield School, of KPS, Vinita Ekka, Coordinator Loyola Junior School, Jyoti representatives of various schools of Jamshedpur, more than 3500 students from Junior & High school, Teachers, Alumni members, Ronald D�Costa, Mahender Gupta, Savak Patel, Manish Bhauka, Rajiv Agarwal & Iqbal Alam were present on this occasion.
�Darjeeling has been facing a crisis due to political issues, which has resulted in the city being isolated due to economic blockade. The people of this beautiful city are suffering from poverty, hunger and disease.
Loyola School, Jamshedpur and Loyola Alumni Association are jointly lending a helping hand in this philanthropic work,� said Rajiv Talwar.
Last Wednesday we sent 1 truck load measuring approximately 5 Tons to Darjeeling which reached them within 48 hours and same was distributed to the needy. Today we have sent more than 3 times of last week i.e. more than 15 tons of relief material was flagged off today for Darjeeling.
More than 3500 students of Loyola School have supported us in this noble cause. Teachers of Junior & High School too have donated generously. The Loyola Alumni Association members have collected more than 1 Lakh Rupees for buying Cooking Oil and arranging for the transportation of material.
Jyoti Clubs of many Schools came forward and collected relief material from the students of their respective schools. They are Jyoti Clubs of Beldih Church, Dayanand Public School, DBMS School, Kadma & BH Area, KPS Mango & Kadma & St. Mary�s English School, Bistupur.
