Livelihood cum skill development fair held in Seraikela

Seraikela: A livelihood cum skill development fair was organized on the concluding day of Gram Swaraj Abhiyan in Seraikela on Saturday. It was held at the local community building. The chief guest of the occasion was the Zila Parishad president Shakuntala Mahali. Other dignitaries included the Seraikela Deputy Commissioner (DC) Chhavi Ranjan, DDC, panchayat representatives, farmes and women self help group members.

In her address, the chief guest said the Central government was running many schemes for women with the view to make them financially independent. She said the Central government was serious about the development of women. She said the government was providing skills to women and linking them to various livelihood programmes.

The DC said the district administration was implementing many welfare schemes meant for women empowerment. Many more schemes would be launched in the coming days, he said.
