Jamshedpur: Kolhan University is planning to increase the annual fee of LLB course from Rs 5000 to Rs 25,000. A proposal to this effect has been sent by Jamshedpur Cooperative Law College to the university office. If granted, this would mean that the students will have to pay five times more fee every year unlike earlier when they had to pay Rs 15,000 for three years.
Dr AK Jha, spokesperson, KU, said the fee hike proposal was put forth in the meeting of Academic Council. But the decision in this regard would be taken by a high power committee.
College sources said they are trying to comply with the directions of Bar Council of India to make sure they do not lose its recognition. A two year provisional recognition has been given to the college, sources said.
