Saraikela, Dec 23: The rope is being tightened around the business activities of liquor barons and their coteries. Police are making regular swoops on illicit distilleries and sale points where both, country and foreign liquors are available.
The district Superintendent of Police has ordered all police stations to maintain a hawk eye on illicit supply and sale of liquor. The Kandra police led by OC Rajan Kumar raided one such joint in Bikanipur village. The police team recovered and seized country liquor bottles including 25 bottles of Dilkhush, 35 300ml bottles, nine bottles of 975 Degree brand country liquor and among foreign alcohol bottles were four bottles of Royal Stag, three bottles of McDowell and three of Royal Challenge from the illegal joints run by Samir Mandal and Rakesh Mandal. The raiding team led by Kandra PS OC Rajan Kumar included ASIs Ramesh Kumar Singh and Uday Kumar, PSIs Dinesh Thakur and Amit Kumar along with jawans of the local police station.
