Jamshedpur/Chaibasa, Oct. 11: Chief Minister Raghubar Das on Friday attacked former Chief Minister Shibu Soren and his family for looting and plundering Jharkhand�s wealth during the second phase of Johar Jan Ashirwad Yatra at Hata near Jamshedpur. He termed the Soren family as the biggest exploiter of the tribal community.
Addressing the gathering, Das alleged that most of the CNT-SPT Act violations had been committed by Soren family in the State alone. The family bought large chunks of land by misusing the Act.
In his trademark style, Raghubar Das accused JMM working president Hemant Soren of usurping tribal land in different parts of the state while counting the achievements of his own government because of the Double Engine Sarkar (a term referred to Narendra Modi led BJP government at the Center and BJP government in State).
He said that Soren scratched out the recognition of tribal language from JPSC by passing a bill in cabinet in 2013 while the present government included 9 tribal languages in the UPSC. He noted that there is a need to understand the character of JMM.
Das further said that despite being the Santhal Chief Minister Soren did nothing for the Santali language. However, the present government has ensured the teaching of classes one to five in Olchiki. Santhali language is also being used in making announcements at Santhal railway stations. Appointment of teachers is being done to educate children in Santali language.
He recalled how an independent MLA (Madhu Koda) was made Chief Minister just for exploiting the resources of the State for personal �benefits�. This resulted in a scam of Rs 4000 crore. “Had the former Chief Ministers of UPA worked sincerely, the development and progress in Jharkhand would have been manifold. It is really shocking the way this State has been governed till BJP stepped in. It is high time for the people to vote for BJP to ensure a better tomorrow,� noted Das.
The Chief Minister also said that the upcoming Assembly elections will decide the fate of the State so the people needed to vote accordingly with all round progress and development in mind. �Jharkhand has the potential to scale new heights in terms of progress but the State needs a good and stable Government which the BJP is providing. People should show faith in BJP and vote the party to power again.�
Das also addressed a public meeting as part of Johar Jan Ashirwad Yatra in Jhikpani area under West Singhbhum district.
