JNAC team cracks down on illegal scrap yards

Jamshedpur: Jamshedpur Notified Area Committee has launched a drive against scrap dealers encroaching land for storing plastic waste without permission. The Special Officer of JNAC, Sanjay Kumar, raided two such scrap-yards situated behind Sidhgora Town Hall on Saturday and found a mound of plastic waste and scrap dumped at an open space. No trade licence or official permission was given to the traders, said Kumar.
The JNAC team imposed a fine of Rs 10,000 and Rs 2000 on the two traders and directed them to apply for trade licence within three days. He said legal action would be taken against the traders in case they do not clean the area.
