Jamshedpur, Sept 25: The Jamshedpur Notified Area Committee (JNAC) and Tata Steel Utility and Infrastructure Services Limited (TSUISL) have intensified efforts to maintain cleanliness at the Sakchi vegetable market, where 9–10 tons of garbage accumulate daily. Despite round-the-clock cleaning by the TSUISL team, road congestion from large container unloading and lack of cooperation from shopkeepers hinder sanitation work. To address this, an awareness program was organized on Thursday under the “Cleanliness is Service” campaign. Social worker and JNAC brand ambassador Pappu Sardar, Kasidih Depot Manager Dipankar Pradhan, Senior Sanitation Supervisor Surya Prakash and sanitation staff urged vendors to dispose of waste properly, avoid blocking roads and help maintain hygiene. Officials stressed that cleanliness required collective responsibility, urging citizens and traders to cooperate to make Sakchi Mandi clean, organized and healthier for all.
