JNAC seals seven buildings in Jamshedpur for deviations from building plans

Jamshedpur, April 7: The Jamshedpur Notified Area Committee (JNAC) launched a crackdown on unauthorized constructions, sealing seven buildings in the Tata lease area for deviations from approved building plans. The action was carried out in Golmuri and Bhalubasa localities as part of a special enforcement campaign.

According to officials, notices had earlier been served to the concerned landowners and builders under the provisions of the Jharkhand Municipality Act, 2011. They were instructed to demolish or remove the portions of their buildings that violated sanctioned maps and were given the opportunity to present their case. However, the building owners failed to comply and continued construction work, prompting strict action from the civic body.

The sealing operation was conducted on the orders of JNAC Deputy Municipal Commissioner Krishna Kumar. A dedicated team led the enforcement drive, comprising Assistant City Investigator Anisha Dey, City Manager Joy Gudiya, Junior Engineer Mahendra Kumar Pradhan, and regional staff Prakash Bhagat and Ganesh Ram.

The campaign began at Golmuri Garabasa with the sealing of a building at Holding Number 584. It continued at Holding Numbers 52 and 03 in Golmuri Hindu Basti and Lohar Line, respectively. Notably, JNAC also took action for the second time against a building near the Golmuri Traffic Police Station. Despite an earlier demolition of the under-construction structure, the builder had resumed construction of the fifth floor. The building was again sealed during this operation.

The drive concluded with the sealing of a structure at Holding Number 214 in Bhalubasa, which was also found to be violating approved building norms.

List of Sealed Buildings:

  1. Golmuri Hindu Basti – Holding No. 52
  2. Bhalubasa – Holding No. 214
  3. Anand Pratik Tower (near Golmuri Traffic Police Station)
  4. Golmuri Lohar Line – Holding No. 03
  5. Golmuri Gadhabasa – Holding No. 584

JNAC has reiterated its commitment to taking firm action against illegal constructions across the city.
