Jamshedpur: Following strict directives from the Jharkhand High Court, the Jamshedpur Notified Area Committee (JNAC) has intensified its crackdown on unauthorized structures. After a comprehensive investigation into 24 buildings flagged for plan deviation, the administration has officially issued a final seven-day ultimatum to the property owners.
Under the direction of JNAC Deputy Administrator Krishna Kumar, four specialized investigation teams completed a detailed measurement of the targeted properties using digital tools. The resulting reports have identified specific illegal sections of these buildings, particularly focusing on areas where parking spaces have been encroached upon or built over in violation of approved blueprints.
The JNAC notice explicitly warns owners to self-demolish illegal portions and restore their buildings to the original sanctioned maps within one week. Failure to comply will result in the administration initiating a bulldozer drive in accordance with the High Court’s orders. Property owners will be held liable for any damages occurring during the forced demolition and will also be required to pay the costs incurred by the administration for the exercise.
Several prominent properties and individuals are on the list for immediate action, including Hotel Ganga Regency in Kashidih, TK India Real Estate on Boulevard Road in Bistupur, and various holdings in the Sakchi SNP Area, Circuit House Area, and Sonari.
This aggressive stance has created a stir among developers and property owners across the city. The Deputy Administrator reiterated that because the drive is being monitored by the High Court, there will be no leniency or delays. Residents can expect to see heavy machinery on Jamshedpur’s streets soon as the JNAC moves to clear the city of structural violations.
