JNAC calls for overhaul of cleanliness in Jamshedpur

Jamshedpur: In a decisive move to enhance the city’s cleanliness, Deputy Municipal Commissioner Krishna Kumar chaired a comprehensive review meeting at the Jamshedpur Notified Area Committee (JNAC) office auditorium. Attended by contractors, sanitation supervisors, city managers, and special officers, the meeting focused on implementing stricter cleanliness measures and ensuring accountability in sanitation efforts.

The Deputy Municipal Commissioner emphasized the mandatory use of full PPE kits by all sanitation workers and supervisors to ensure safety and hygiene. Contractors failing to comply with this directive will face strict action.Micro-Planning for Labor Deployment:  Contractors were instructed to submit detailed lists outlining the deployment of workers for road and drain cleaning. This micro-planning aims to streamline the distribution of labor and ensure optimal coverage of the city’s sanitation needs. Curbing Open Garbage Disposal: A strong message was sent to residents regarding improper waste disposal. Through public announcements, citizens will be warned against throwing garbage in the open or into drains. Violators will face spot fines as part of efforts to instill discipline and prevent littering.

Comprehensive Reporting: Sanitation supervisors were directed to submit detailed reports on the status of street and drain cleaning within a week. This will help identify problem areas and ensure timely action.

Regular Monitoring and Surprise Inspections: Nodal and senior officers were tasked with daily monitoring and conducting surprise inspections of cleaning activities. These measures are expected to maintain high standards and deter negligence.

Krishna Kumar urged all stakeholders to work collaboratively and promptly to make the cleanliness campaign effective. He highlighted the importance of collective effort in achieving a cleaner, healthier Jamshedpur.
